GUGGENHEIM HELSINKI

The concept of Landscape for Art for the proposed Guggenheim Helsinki is derived from the Finnish landscape and the Kalevala epic. The proposal is about abstract landscaping that weaves the multi-dimensional fabric from the site and the experience of the museum's exhibition. The proposed Guggenheim is linking the park from higher level to the waterfront below through its subtle cascading form that naturally bringing lights into the building. The public program starts from the plaza, the exsiting pedestrian movement at the harbour front towards the continuous looped ramp inside the building which opens up towards the vistas of the sea and the city at upper level. The proposed Guggenheim Helsinki aims to bring the social interaction and the art experience into one with its modern form without compromising Finnish Spirit.
