DBKL TOWER 2
The intention for Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Tower 2 is not only to create another iconic building, but also a new public and civic space for the dynamic city population. Located next to Gombak River, the building podium is raised by 15m above ground and naturally created the City Hall Square for the public. The plaza will not only create a relationship between the public and the City Hall, but also as the "Gateway to the River"; bringing people from the streets, through the City Hall Square, and enabling them to access the River Bank. Taking the advantage to enliven the river, the river edges is designed with steps and ramps that serves for public activities such as open amphitheatre, bicyle lanes, and water pavilion in the middle of the river.
DBKL Tower 2 is designed with internal roof garden that serves every three floors as a communal space for the staffs. The facade design is inspired by the movement of the river by combining stainless-steel fins with undulating facade surface. The fins also act as screen protector for the office space.
