CHURCH BELL TOWER

The St. Andrews Bell Tower was built to commemorate the church’s 100th anniversary. The structure is made from reinforced concrete with striated texture formed by 100 timber planks as the formwork. The lines represents each year of the church’s existence in serving its congregations. The bell tower form opens up with a symbolic vertical fissure as a metaphor of Christ’s resurrection and emergence from His tomb. The suspended Crucifix is revealed in silhouette with dramatic lighting at night. The original church-bell from the existing church is relocated in the new 10m high bell tower.
